Notices of Intent to Issue Well Permits in Spacing Units
Which Conform to Statewide Spacing in New York State

The Department hereby gives notice, pursuant to subdivision 23-0503(2) of the New York State Environmental Conservation Law, of its intent to issue permits to drill, deepen, plug back or convert the following wells for production of oil or gas. These notices pertain to well spacing requirements only and do not necessarily mean that permits are ready to be issued. This list does NOT include wells proposed in oil fields or pools which were discovered, developed and operated prior to January 1, 1981 and does NOT include wells proposed in gas fields or pools which were discovered, developed and operated prior to January 1, 1995 and which are not being extended.
Permit issuance without further proceedings is authorized by subdivision 23-0503(2) because the spacing units for these wells conform to statewide spacing as defined by 23-0501(B)(1), are of approximately uniform shape with other spacing units within the same field or pool, and abut other spacing units in the same pool unless sufficient distance remains between non-abutting units for another unit to be developed. Spacing unit maps may be reviewed by appointment only in the respective regional offices.
After permit issuance, any spacing unit wherein the acreage is not 100% controlled by the well operator will be scheduled for an integration hearing pursuant to subdivision 23-0901(3).
