In the News Today

“TVA wants to diversify by using natural gas
In its immediate future, the Tennessee Valley Authority wants to begin using natural gas to help generate its power. And in the more distant future, TVA - the power supplier for most of south-central Kentucky - will be looking at expanding its nuclear power sources. In Kentucky it generates nearly all of its power from coal.”
The article talks of co-firing biomass or wood products as a new source, and also the possibility of TVA pursuing renewable energy like wind.
“Diversity proved to be the most prudent course...”
TVA President and CEO Tom Kilgore
Well said. Diversifying our energy options in Otsego County has possibilities.
